Did anyone get a chance to watch the total lunar eclipse? This is the first time I ever stayed up to watch it and I have to say I’m glad I did. I know there are pictures you can always see but seeing it happen is just amazing. It was pretty darn cold here in the MidWest as a cold front had just come through. It was in the 20s and my hands were freezing from just taking pictures. With that said, I do it all over again.
Don’t worry if you missed it this time around as you will have 3 more opportunities this year and next. Here in the United States we get to see the Blood Moon four times, which is known as a tetrad. The next appearance should be around October 8th, April 4th 2015, and September 28th 2015. If you miss any of those, your next chance will be in 2032.
It was pretty cool to see the color transformation of the moon as it passed into the Earth’s shadow. The moon started out bright and glowing then it slowly dimmed taking on a reddish hue color. I’m not a professional photographer but I did my best to capture the transformation to share with everyone. I didn’t stay up to watch the moon emerge, but I will for Octobers lunar eclipse.
